Description: We provided our commercial scaffolding services as our client ITC Concepts required us to aid them with their project.
The purpose of this project was to strip and refurbish the whole building, including internal and external redecorations, as well as merge the roof areas to become one-floor adding additional office space.
Implementing scaffolding was necessary in order to provide the trades with access to all areas, to protect the public using gantries at both the front and side, goods hoists and beam hoists also needed to be utilised, and we also fully encapsulated the scaffold using shrink wrap.
To meet our clients requirements we first installed the gantries to allow for materials to be raised and stored at a higher level, this significantly aided the erection of the scaffolding as materials were readily available to use. We also delivered the scaffolding in multiple site visits to ensure that we met the client’s schedule for work.
The challenges we faced throughout this project included COVID-19 which effected transport for operatives and keeping labour levels up on site. We overcame this by making sure that social distancing was adhered to at all times, and therefore work could still take place. Another challenge we faced was that the side and rear elevation were not level due to the age of the building. This challenge was dealt with through various adaptations to the designs and the installation of temporary platforms for safe access.
This project was more than meets the eye, with adjoining structures both to the side and rear. We were delighted to have produced premium quality results for our client ITC yet again.
